A person named Tommy Thumb recorded this rhyme for the first time in his “Pretty Song Book” collection as “Hickere Dickere Dock” in 1744 in London.

Afterward, another version of this rhyme was published in “Mother Goose’s Melody” in 1765 and it was named “Dickery Dock”.
